Hello my name is Anissa Barber. 2024 marked my 30th year of teaching Art specifically ceramics, and I am proud to say, retired. I began teaching at Ozark High School in the fall of 1999, became Department head in 2003, where I taught 60 hand-building and 60 wheel throwing students each semester. My teaching career began with two years of teaching art in middle school in Springfield Public Schools and two years of teaching elementary school in Columbia Public Schools. I am a native of Springfield and have generations of family from this area. My spouse, Jeff Barber, is an architect and works for the Department of Natural Resources. We have two adult children. We have two Goldendoodles that have filled the void left by our empty nesters. My family continues to enjoy spending time together. We love long car vacations to National Parks, hiking, skiing, and kayaking in our nation's beautiful parks and rivers.
